Greetings Dawn Community! If you are new to cryptocurrencies, or just would like to refresh your knowledge on how to purchase tokens, we have just the tutorial for you. Buying Dawn is easy. In just a few steps, we’ll show you how to exchange your Bitcoin (BTC) or our newly minted Dawn tokens.
Step 1 - Create an Account
If you haven’t already, the first thing you’ll need to do is open an account at ProBit exchange. Signing up is a breeze. Just head over to ProBit.com and click on “Register” to get started. If you have already registered, please login and skip to step 2.
After you register, you will have to check your email and enter the verification code. Once you’ve verified your account, you are ready to login!
At this point, it would be a wise choice to setup two-factor authentication on your ProBit Account. If you are unfamiliar with this process, please visit the ProBit FAQ.
Step 2 - Deposits
Before you can purchase Dawn, you will need to make a deposit to the exchange. Dawn is currently listed for the following trading pairs:
👉DAWN/KRW
👉DAWN/BTC
In order to purchase Dawn, you will need to deposit one of those two currencies. Global users will not be able to deposit KRW into the exchange. If you are a Korean platform user, please refer to the ProBit FAQs on how to deposit fiat currency. This tutorial will cover how to deposit Bitcoin (BTC).
To begin, click the “Wallet” section at the top of the page. From there, click on the “Deposit” section and enter “BTC” into the search box. Please ensure that the wallet you select is for “BTC - Bitcoin” and nothing else. If you do not already have Bitcoin, creating an account only takes a few moments. Please follow this guide to learn how to purchase your first Bitcoin. You can purchase even small increments of Bitcoin, as it is divisible up to 8 decimal places.
Step 3 - Send your Bitcoin to ProBit
Now you will send Bitcoin to the deposit address shown on your screen. You may either select the “Copy” button and paste that address into your wallet, or simply scan the QR code beneath your deposit address with the wallet where your Bitcoin is stored. Because every wallet is different, we cannot provide a tutorial for each wallet. If you have trouble with this step, please reach out to your wallet provider for specific instructions.
To send Bitcoin to your deposit address, you will generally click “Send” or “Withdrawal” in the wallet that you are storing your Bitcoin in, and paste in your newly generated ProBit Bitcoin address into the address or “To” field in your wallet. The amount you choose to send is up to you.
Below is an example of the Coinbase wallet, where you can buy, sell, and withdraw Bitcoin from. Simply paste in your ProBit Bitcoin wallet address, and select the amount of Bitcoin you would like to send.
Note: Only send Bitcoin to a Bitcoin address. Never send another type of cryptocurrency to a Bitcoin wallet address. Always double check both the address you are sending to and that the cryptocurrencies you are using match. Lost cryptocurrencies are not recoverable.
It can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours for a Bitcoin transaction to complete and show up in your ProBit account. It is usually in under thirty minutes. You can track the progress of your deposit to ProBit on the “Deposit” screen under “Recent Deposit History.”
Step 4 - Purchase Dawn
Once your Bitcoin deposit has been completed, you are ready to purchase Dawn! Simply click on the “Exchange” button next to the ProBit logo at the top of your screen to visit the exchange.
From the exchange screen, you will need to ensure that you are in the “Bitcoin” markets. Click the “BTC” tab on the left side of your screen, and type ‘Dawn’ into the “Symbol or name” text box above. Alternatively, you can click this link.
The price of Dawn is perpetually moving. You can find the price for each Dawn token at the information bar at the top after you select the Dawn/BTC market. If the price reads 0.00001475, that indicates that 1 Dawn token costs 0.00001475 BTC.
To make things simple, you can simply select one of the orders from the order book in order to purchase Dawn. The orders in red are sell orders, and the orders in green are buy orders. If you wish to purchase Dawn, a seller must agree to the price of your order. To make things simple, you can accomplish this by simply selecting one of the sell orders. In doing so, you can initiate a transaction where you agree to pay the price (in BTC) of that order per Dawn token. When you click one of these sell orders, it will populate all of the information from that order into the “BUY” section below the orderbook.
You may then change the number of Dawn you would like to purchase by entering it manually, or simply choosing one of the quick select options (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%). By selecting the 50% button, you will create an order to exchange 50% of the total amount of Bitcoin you hold in your wallet for Dawn tokens. The 100% button will spend all of your Bitcoin. Please note that if your order price (in BTC) is set too low, your order may not get filled.
Additionally, if your Dawn order exceeds the value of Bitcoin that you hold in your wallet, the order will not be executed. By using the quick select options, you will avoid that from happening.
Once you have decided on the price and number of Dawn you wish to buy, click the “BUY” button. You can track the status of your order in the “Open Orders,” “Order History,” and “Trade History” tabs below the DAWN/BTC price chart. Once you have purchased Dawn, you can withdraw them to a compatible wallet of your choice by clicking “Wallet,” and clicking “Withdrawal.” For a list of compatible wallets, visit the WalletConnect website.
