Requirements to be eligible for voting
To vote you need to:
Move out your tokens from a cryptocurrency exchange to a DeFi compatible wallet
Each voting proposal has a start date - you need to have tokens in your wallet before the voting starts
Voting is based on the snapshot of the token holdings at a specific date called a snapshot - it is enough that you hold tokens in your wallet at the Ethereum block number when the snapshot was taken
Dawn is using the excellent Snapshot product from Balancer Labs for the governance. Voting happens off-chain and there are no transaction fees on the voting.
Compatible wallets
We recommend using any of WalletConnect wallets or MetaMask.
How to vote
Follow Dawn Telegram and Discord on the discussion on upcoming proposals.
1) View active proposals on Dawn governance portal.
2) Make sure you have tokens in your wallet before the token balance snapshot was taken for a proposal. You might need to make token visible in MetaMask using Add custom token. See instructions on how to add tokens to your wallet. If you do not have any Dawn tokens yet the best way to acquire them is to buy them through a supported cryptocurrency exchange.

3) Connect your wallet that has tokens in it.
4) Choose your voting options on the proposal page.
